Various creative ministries have been developed to evangelize the lost, encourage Christians and meet the needs of the small churches of Japan.

CAYA Cafe

The CAYA (“Come As You Are”) Café was started in March 2018, as a space for the community to interact naturally and build relationships with missionaries and Japanese Christians. We have been surprised by the popularity of this weekly program and have partnered with a local Japanese pastor who is helping us connect an entire community with the local church.

Mr. Takahara has built a 1/150 scale model of the ark (mostly from cardboard), as recorded in the Bible. This ark was designed to come apart – one floor at a time – revealing how Mr. Takaraha imagined the inner-workings to be. He even included small vegetable gardens. He also made a small pulley and rope with a bucket to show how water might have been drawn up to the different levels of the massive structure.  Read more...

Mr.and Mrs. Takahara were both saved through the Hospital Evangelism Ministry of Japan Mission (JM) and joined JM — she in 1968, he 1964. They later married in 1973, and felt a burden from the Lord to communicate the Gospel through the means of audio-visual media.  Read more...

Every month, Christian mothers are invited to Japan Mission for what is called Mama House of Prayer (Mama HOP). Mothers with little children who struggle to find the space for an undivided time of prayer and fellowship can have their children looked after as they focus on the health of their own walk with God.  Read more...
