Annie Richardson

(Former worker as of June 2017)

Annie Richardson joined Japan Mission from the USA during February 2010. She served as an office worker, English Evangelism Teacher and Teacher’s Aid at Kansai Christian School.

Annie shared, “In a new Beginner Level English class, my students swayed and clapped their hands as they sang, Go Tell It on the Mountain, Over the Hills and Everywhere… Even I could not keep up with the enthusiasm and keen sense of rhythm!” I was surprised to find out that these dear ladies were singing so eagerly, but did not know the meaning of the words or the very King they sang to!

“Gospel Music is very popular in Japan. The Japanese want to experience the passion and zeal that they sense in this music. These are the opportunities of teaching English in Japan. If a group of ladies love Gospel Music and want to improve their pronunciation, then I help and also point out the message of Good News. These ladies are part of a secular Gospel group called ‘Smile’ and they are preparing to sing in a concert at a big shopping mall. Pray that they would really find something to ‘smile’ about! Of course, I will also go and lend my support.

“Please pray that I would wait on the Lord. I don’t want to run ahead of my Lord, but rather to let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:4), and to hear the message: You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. (James 5:8).”

Pray that God would inspire each of the English Evangelism teachers as they are challenged to use various means to share the Gospel with hundreds of non-Christian students each week.
