Alison Quinlan

Alison Quinlan joined Japan Mission from England in April 2022.

Calling to Japan:

Alison first received the call to mission work in Japan in May 2017, at a Christian conference. After this she began to pray for God’s leading and guidance. God confirmed His call to Japan in many different ways over the next few years.

In 2018 Alison’s husband was diagnosed with Terminal cancer and sadly passed away in  January 2019. This was a devastatingly difficult time for Alison and her family, but one thing that kept her going was her belief that God still had a plan for her future.

Shortly after, Alison felt lead to enroll in a TFL course (teaching English as a foreign language), but didn’t feel ready to take it up until the following year. After completing this course In June 2020 Alison decided to search the internet to see if there were any mission organizations she could serve with in Japan. She literally typed the words ‘Japan’ and ‘Mission’ into the search engine and the first result was ‘Japan Mission’.

Upon reading through the website, she discovered that Japan Mission has missionaries that teach English! Alison also downloaded the new book from the website called Meeting The Challenge, written by David Verwey. As she read this book, Alison felt a strong stirring in her spirit. It was as if she was coming alive again after the dark season of grief. At this Alison became convinced that God was leading her to serve with Japan Mission.
